Lee Jay Thompson, nicknamed Kix or El Thommo, is an English musician, best known as the saxophonist and songwriter of the second wave ska band, Madness. Madness achieved most of their success in the early to mid-1980s, with hits such as “One Step Beyond”, “It Must Be Love” and “Baggy Trousers”, along with their only UK number one single, “House of Fun.
Lee Thompson, who currently lives in Barnet, was featured floating while playing a red, white, and blue-colored saxophone in the closing ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics.
He is currently recording a new album with Madness, and often performs shows with his new band, Lee Thompson’s Ska Orchestra.
Lee Thompson is married to Debbie (née Fordham) and they have three children called Tuesday, Daley and Kye. He is also a grandfather to Sydney and Cade.
Elaine Paige OBE is an English singer and actress best known for her work in musical theatre. Raised in Barnet, North London, Paige attended the Aida Foster stage school, making her first professional appearance on stage in 1964, at the age of 16.
Her appearance in the 1968 production of Hair marked her West End debut. Following a number of roles over the next decade, Elaine Paige was selected to play Eva Perón in the first production of Evita in 1978, which brought her to the attention of the broader public. For this role, she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Performance of the Year in a musical.
